Textbooks and Materials

  • Microsoft Office XP/2000: Introductory Concepts and Techniques”, “Discovering Computers: Concepts for the Digital World, 2003-2006” (I am not responsible for any student who does not have the required textbooks)
  • At least two 3½ inch floppy diskettes or other storage media compatible with the labs
  • Recommended: A free e-mail account

Prerequisites – None

Course Objectives

This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and use a microcomputer system for professional, home, and small business tasks.

Attendance Policy: It is imperative that you attend class every day and be on time or early to class. Excessive absences (more than 5) will result in automatic failure. No student will be giving an “I” (Incomplete grade) without prior consent. Any student who fails to take the Final Exam without being exempt by the instructor will receive a failing grade. 

Common Sense Rules:

  • Absolutely No cellular phone usage in or around the classroom while class is in session
  • Students are prohibited from playing music during class (NO Headphones, etc.)
  • Each student must play a part in maintaining order and discipline
